Looking for A Hero?

Posted by the prisoner's wife On 2:06 PM

i.
i love nasir jones. this beat is hot & the song is hella infectious. i heard it while listening to satellite radio in the rental, driving around upstate NY. the song SCREAMS summer to me, and makes me question...or ask myself...do heroes still exist?

what do you think?

I think heroes exist, but we either don't give credit where credit is due or we are looking in the wrong places.

In the fast paced society we currently live in, we can barely reconize the color of the sky, let alone your average hero. Also, we look in the wrong places...omitting the true hero that dwells in ourselves...we are just to afraid to realize this.

I am my own hero. I ride the trusty steed...I slay the dragons...I rescue myself from distress.

I am the one that I want.

And sometimes I do it all in stillettos!

forgot that this cd was out. thanks for the reminder. heard "black president" a while back. loved it. loved it! dl hughley was joking that if obama gets elected, white guilt is done. total absolution. scary, huh? i appreciate nasir's flow. my favorite hip hop song is jay-z's "takeover" so... he did nas wrong there. broke him down. wasn't a jay-z fan 'til that song. and that was 3 years ago for me. i'll support your guy this time out.

got my own thoughts on heroes on my Youtube page.

when does school get going for you?

beautifullyconjured: true. we don't take enough time to see what is right in front of us. perhaps that's why so many are unhappy?

lovebabz: brovo! i feel you. i've come to be my own hero, but even i have my limits. lol

byg: is it a brooklyn thing? lol. how you gon sleep on Nasir? anywho...the youtube page is a banger, son (*wink*). and school starts Sept 2nd (ugh...it's right around the corner!)

torrance: interesting. but everybody can't be a leader, right? or else nothing would get done.

My hero is the great "I AM." Read my current poem and you'll understand.

How are you, sister? It's been a long time. I haven't seen you around much this summer. Peace~
