As a mother of a first grader and a kindergartener I am understanding how young they are to learn even what a middle finger means. I was astonished this week when my first grade told me about this finger that is a swear. Of course, it was in front of my younger son whom wanted to know more. I am seriously considering home schooling. Everyone says they need socialization. At what expense though?? So they can be disrespectful and mouthy to adults. some kids pick up everything and use it against everyone even in good homes. I don't have cable TV. I don't let my children play video games and we go to church regularly. I am surprised how much they learn in school by their peers and are willing to try out
Good Luck and keep up the good teaching. You did do the best thing. just use a Love and Logic program for teachers if you need any ideas they are full of good ideas. My brother is a teacher, and I honestly don't see how you teachers do it...it must be a passion, and I for one think that teachers don't receive 1/4 of the credit (or pay) that is due to them.Beautifully.Conjured.Uphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07406790625325877853noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21175262.post-47219875452355374692009-03-26T05:37:00.000-07:002009-03-26T05:37:00.000-07:00Damn, PW--that brought tears to my eyes. I'm so sorry that student said that to you; I wish she could see what we see here--that you mean the best for her and rep her all day, every day... she won't realize it, unfortunately, until it's too late.

But as a mom, I'm grateful for people like you. Thanks for fighting the fight, even when it seems no one appreciates it. Know that we do. We absolutely do.MBB Founder and Editor Denene Millnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17413819770146273768noreply@blogger.com
